Google Earth Tutoring Baby Brother

During our Geography class on November 25, 2013, my class was introduced to a group of adorable second graders. The whole week before our meeting with them, we spent class time learning how to use google earth, so we could teach the kids what we learned and how to make a tour. We first sat down with them inside their computer lab with their teacher, Ms. Hunter. They sang a song for us, and then came the picking. It wasn't actually picking, the kids just stood up and one of us would stand up too and get our child, it was just random. I got a boy named, Shay? I don't really know how to spell his name, but he pronounced it like Shay. Anyways, we then went to our computers and started messing about with google earth. I showed him a ship wreck, and he showed me the moon, which was kind of embarrassing, because I didn't even know we could go to the moon with google earth. Shay was very amused with all the tips and tricks I gave him, I even showed him how to use street view, and what it looks like on the inside of the Eiffel tower. Though we had work to do with all the touring stuff their teacher told them to do, he could not find the will to stop playing with google earth, so we ended up not doing a tour, which was fine in my opinion, because the little boy learned a lot, and had fun at the same time, I did too. I learned how to be patient, because sometimes he couldn't spell things and I was told his spelling wasn't exactly part of his strengths, so I had to spell the places that he wanted to go to letter by letter and sometimes even typing it myself. Shay is the sweetest boy ever, and after our tutoring session, he gave me a seaweed pack, which I love, and the cutest hug ever. I already miss the little guy. Thanks for the experience Mr. Barnes, it was worth missing Disney Land. :)
